LAE Promotion of RPI Sigman Alpha Epsilon Chapter Support Fund - Donate before December 31, 2023

Lambda Alpha Epsilon / New York Epsilon created a chapter support fund in conjuction with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Commons making RPI Charitable Donation Funds available to all chapters in 2020 to support the undergraduate student living and learning, especially in terms of chapter housing needs. They were first set up as dedicated funds the chapter can use to assist with specific operational costs, specifically mortgage payments, utility expenses, and essential house renovations or repairs. There are some subtle changes, however, that will happen January 1, 2024, that will shift the purpose of the funds to be more focused on support for academics and educational leadership programming. It is for this reason, that we are having one more push to donate to the fund before December 31, 2023 so that we can use the donations to support the chapter house renovation project, whose costs have increased significantly.

We participated in RPI's 2RPi Day of giving on June 26, 2023 and we raised >$75,000 for our SAE Chapter Support Fund and narrowly lost first place in the Fraternity donor challenge with 134 donations, falling to Sigma Phi Epsilon who had 136 donations for the year. This included more than $10,000 in corporate matching.

Donations to SAE chapter support fund are fully tax deductible and, in addition to being applied to each chapter, will be counted as part of the individual’s lifetime giving to Rensselaer. With Marty Schmidt taking the helm and reinvigorating the campus atmosphere, we believe this pathway supports SAE and RPI as a win-win. And, if your company does corporate matching, it is a great way to multiply and maximize your gift. We had several large donations come in this way on 2RPi Day. More information about this program and other RPI Fraternity and Sorority Funds may be found at the RPI Fraternity and Sorority giving webpage

Be sure to place your donation amount into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Chapter Support Fund field on this giving page:

All donations to the LAE managed funds can be made by check to LAE (see directions with each fund) or by donations through paypal (a 3% surcharge is applied). For the SAE Foundation Chapter Education Fund (CEF) #3350 “Don Farkouh/ Mark Hier Memorial Leadership School Scholarhip Fund” and the SAE Foundation New York Epsilon Chapter Allocation Fund (CAF) #3806, see the directions below on how to contact the National SAE office to donate. To donate to the RPI Sigma Alpha Epsilon Chapter Support Fund, you can visit this website and donate online and direct the donation to the pull down menu for our chapter.

We participated in RPI's 2RPi Day of giving on June 26, 2023 and we raised >$68,000 for our SAE Chapter Support Fund and narrowly lost first place in the Fraternity donor challenge with 134 donations, falling to Sigma Phi Epsilon who had 136 donations for the year. We are planning to use this donation vehicle to replace and supplement our old annual phonathon, for we can use RPI resources for communications and promotion. RPI is planning another day of giving in November to catch end of tax year contributions and we will participate in that again to capture more financial support for the renovation project.

If you decide to donate to the LAE Scholarhip funds by check (which is recommended since 100% of your donation makes it to LAE, unlike when you use PayPal), please use this form and send to:
